Abstract

Asthma is a long-term or chronic disease of the respiratory tract characterised by inflammation and narrowing of the airways, causing shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. Asthma patients generally have problems with their quality of life because this disease is chronic and can recur at any time. This study aims to determine the relationship between age, occupation, education, and air exposure with the quality of life of asthma patients at Sarkies Aisyiyah Hospital in Kudus. The type of research used by the researcher is quantitative research with a correlation analysis method. The population of this study consisted of all asthma patients at Sarkies Aisyiyah Hospital in Kudus, totalling 27 patients who met the exclusion and inclusion criteria. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The instruments required were questionnaires on demographics, air exposure, and the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. The analysis used was the Spearman's rank test. The results of the study concluded that there was a relationship between age, education, and air exposure with the quality of life of asthma patients at Sarkies Aisyiyah Kudus Hospital. However, there was no relationship between occupation and the quality of life of asthma patients.
