Electronic Medical Records (EMR) are health information systems designed to support the recording, storage, retrieval, and management of patient information in an integrated manner. The success of EMR implementation is closely related to the quality of system use and the satisfaction of its users. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the use of Electronic Medical Records and user satisfaction at a General Hospital in Lamongan Regency.
This study used a quantitative analytic correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of 200 health workers and medical record personnel who used Electronic Medical Records. A total of 67 respondents were selected using stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test with a significance level of 0.05.
The results showed that the use of Electronic Medical Records was categorized as very good among 64 respondents (95.5%), while 3 respondents (4.5%) rated it as fairly good and none rated it as poor. User satisfaction was categorized as very satisfied among 65 respondents (97.0%), while 2 respondents (3.0%) were fairly satisfied and none were dissatisfied. The Spearman Rank test obtained r = 0.635 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a strong, positive, and statistically significant relationship between Electronic Medical Record use and user satisfaction.
The findings indicate that better use of Electronic Medical Records is associated with higher user satisfaction. Continuous improvement of system quality, information accuracy, ease of use, interface design, network stability, and technical support is therefore important to maintain satisfaction and support effective hospital services.
