Jurnal Medicare, ISSN 2828-352X (media online) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by CV. Rena Cipta Mandiri. The journal focuses on Clinical and Patient Care, Public and Community Health, and Complementary and Integrative Medicine.

Jurnal Medicare publishes high-quality scientific manuscripts that demonstrate originality, clear research gaps, appropriate methodology, ethical integrity, scientific contribution, and relevance to evidence-based healthcare.

The journal is published four times a year: January, April, July, and October.

1. General Requirements

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts meet the following requirements:

• The manuscript is original and has not been formally published previously.
• The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal.
• The manuscript is relevant to the Focus and Scope of Jurnal Medicare.
• The manuscript follows the official Jurnal Medicare Author Guidelines and manuscript template.
• All authors have approved the manuscript and agree to its submission.
• The manuscript complies with applicable publication ethics and research ethics.
• All sources, data, figures, and materials from other publications are appropriately acknowledged.
• The manuscript has been checked for plagiarism or inappropriate textual similarity before submission.

Authors should complete the Submission Preparation Checklist before submitting the manuscript.

2. Article Types and Scope

Jurnal Medicare accepts the following manuscript types:

Original Research Article

Original research presenting new findings based on quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, experimental, observational, clinical, or community-based research.

Systematic Review

A structured review that uses a systematic search strategy, explicit inclusion and exclusion criteria, study selection, data extraction, and appropriate quality or risk-of-bias assessment.

Authors should follow relevant reporting standards such as PRISMA when applicable.

Literature Review

A critical synthesis of relevant scientific literature that provides analysis, comparison, interpretation, and identification of research gaps rather than merely summarizing previous studies.

Focus and Scope

Manuscripts must be directly relevant to at least one of the following:

Clinical and Patient Care

Including clinical practice, patient care, nursing, midwifery, maternal and child health, disease prevention and management, patient safety, chronic disease, geriatric care, and evidence-based clinical interventions.

Public and Community Health

Including public health, community health, health promotion, disease prevention, health education, epidemiology, community interventions, health services, and health policy.

Complementary and Integrative Medicine

Including acupuncture, acupressure, herbal medicine, traditional medicine, complementary therapies, integrative healthcare, therapeutic interventions, and evidence-based complementary and traditional medicine.

Manuscripts that fall substantially outside the journal's scope may be rejected during initial editorial screening.

3. Manuscript Preparation

Authors must use the official Jurnal Medicare manuscript template.

The manuscript should be written clearly using academic language and organized logically according to the type of article.

For an original research article, the recommended structure is:

Title → Authors and Affiliations → Abstract → Keywords → Introduction → Methods → Results → Discussion → Conclusion → Limitations → Acknowledgments → Funding → Conflict of Interest → Author Contributions → Ethical Approval → References

The structure may be adjusted when scientifically justified according to the article type.

Title

The title should be:

• concise;
• specific;
• informative;
• relevant to the study;
• free from unnecessary abbreviations; and
• representative of the main research question or topic.

Authors should avoid titles that are excessively long or contain unsupported conclusions.

Authors and Affiliations

The manuscript should include:

• full name of each author;
• institutional affiliation;
• city and country;
• email address of the corresponding author; and
• ORCID iD, where available.

The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the editorial office and for ensuring that all authors approve the submitted and final manuscript.

4. Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should provide a concise summary of the manuscript.

For original research, the preferred structure is:

Background – Objective – Methods – Results – Conclusion

The abstract should clearly state:

• the scientific or health problem;
• the objective;
• the study design and main methods;
• the principal findings; and
• the main conclusion.

The abstract should not contain unnecessary references, tables, figures, or unexplained abbreviations.

Keywords

Authors should provide 3–5 keywords.

Keywords should accurately represent the main concepts of the manuscript. Authors are encouraged to use standardized scientific terminology, including Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) where appropriate.

5. Introduction and Methods

Introduction

The Introduction should establish a clear scientific rationale for the study.

It should generally include:

• background and importance of the problem;
• current scientific evidence;
• relevant previous research;
• limitations or unresolved issues;
• research gap;
• novelty or scientific contribution; and
• research objective.

The final part of the Introduction should clearly state the purpose of the study.

Methods

The Methods section must provide sufficient information to allow readers to understand how the research was conducted.

Where applicable, authors should describe:

• research design;
• research setting and period;
• population and sample;
• sample size;
• sampling technique;
• inclusion and exclusion criteria;
• variables;
• intervention or exposure;
• control/comparison group;
• instruments and measurement procedures;
• data collection procedures;
• validity and reliability of instruments, where applicable;
• statistical analysis; and
• ethical considerations.

Statistical analysis must be appropriate to the research design and characteristics of the data. Authors should report the statistical software used and relevant significance levels where applicable.

6. Ethical Approval and Research Integrity

Research involving human participants, animals, identifiable personal information, or other research requiring ethical review must obtain appropriate ethical clearance/ethical approval.

The manuscript should include relevant information such as:

Ethical Approval: [Name of Ethics Committee], [Institution], [Approval Number], [Date].

Authors are responsible for ensuring that research participants' rights, privacy, confidentiality, and informed consent requirements are appropriately protected.

Where ethical approval is not required, authors should provide an appropriate explanation when necessary.

Research Integrity

Authors must ensure the integrity and accuracy of the research data. Fabrication, falsification, manipulation of results, plagiarism, duplicate publication, and other forms of research misconduct are unacceptable.

Jurnal Medicare may conduct plagiarism/similarity screening before or during the editorial process.

7. Results, Discussion, and Conclusion

Results

The Results section should present findings clearly and objectively.

Results should:

• follow the research objectives;
• be consistent with the Methods;
• report relevant statistical findings;
• present tables and figures appropriately; and
• avoid unnecessary repetition.

Tables and figures should complement, rather than duplicate, the main text.

Discussion

The Discussion should provide a critical interpretation of the findings.

Authors should:

• explain the main findings;
• compare findings with previous studies;
• explain similarities and differences;
• discuss possible mechanisms or explanations;
• identify the scientific contribution;
• explain clinical, public health, or practical implications; and
• suggest appropriate directions for future research.

The Discussion should not merely repeat the Results.

Conclusion

The Conclusion should directly answer the research objective and be supported by the findings.

New data or unsupported claims should not be introduced in the Conclusion.

Limitations

Authors should clearly describe important limitations that may affect the interpretation, validity, or generalizability of the findings.

8. Tables, Figures, and References

Tables

Tables must:

• be numbered consecutively;
• have clear and informative titles;
• be cited in the text;
• use appropriate units and terminology; and
• explain abbreviations where necessary.

Tables should preferably be submitted as editable text rather than images.

Figures

Figures may include graphs, diagrams, flowcharts, photographs, or other visual materials.

Figures must:

• be numbered consecutively;
• have clear captions;
• be cited in the text;
• have adequate resolution; and
• comply with copyright requirements.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material.

References

References must be relevant, credible, accurate, and sufficiently current.

Authors should prioritize:

• peer-reviewed journal articles;
• primary research;
• systematic reviews;
• authoritative guidelines; and
• relevant academic sources.

Authors should avoid excessive use of non-scholarly sources.

All citations in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and all references in the reference list must be cited in the manuscript.

Authors should include DOI information when available.

Reference-management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote is recommended.

9. Publication Ethics, AI, and Peer Review

Authors must comply with the Publication Ethics policy of Jurnal Medicare, including requirements concerning:

• originality and plagiarism;
• authorship;
• ethical approval;
• data integrity;
• duplicate publication;
• funding;
• conflict of interest;
• correction and retraction; and
• responsible use of artificial intelligence.

Artificial Intelligence

AI tools may be used for appropriate purposes such as language improvement, grammar checking, translation, or editorial assistance.

However:

• AI tools cannot be listed as authors;
• authors remain fully responsible for the manuscript;
• AI-generated information must be verified by the authors;
• substantive use of AI should be disclosed where applicable; and
• confidential or unpublished research materials must not be uploaded to public generative AI systems.

Peer Review

Jurnal Medicare applies a double-blind peer-review process.

Manuscripts that pass initial editorial screening are generally reviewed by 2–3 qualified reviewers.

Reviewers assess:

• originality;
• research gap;
• methodology;
• ethical compliance;
• results;
• discussion;
• references; and
• scientific contribution.

The review process generally takes up to 8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and manuscript complexity.

Possible editorial decisions are:

Accept – Minor Revision – Major Revision – Reject

10. Submission, Copyright, and Publication Fee

Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted through the official Jurnal Medicare Online Submission System.

Authors must ensure that all OJS metadata are complete and consistent with the manuscript, including:

• title;
• author names;
• affiliations;
• email;
• ORCID;
• abstract;
• keywords; and
• references.

Copyright and License

Authors retain copyright of their work and grant Jurnal Medicare the right of first publication.

Published articles are licensed under the:

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Publication Fee

Article Submission Fee: IDR 0

No fee is charged for manuscript submission or peer review.

Article Processing Charge (APC): IDR 400,000 per accepted article.

The APC is charged only after acceptance and does not influence the editorial or peer-review decision.

Published articles are freely available to readers under the journal's Open Access Policy.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to confirm that their manuscript complies with all of the following requirements. Submissions that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors for correction.

1. The manuscript is original, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration by another journal.
2. The manuscript is submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format and follows the official Jurnal Medicare manuscript template.
3. DOI or URL links are provided for references whenever available.
4. The manuscript follows the required formatting, structure, tables, figures, and citation style specified in the Author Guidelines.
5. The manuscript includes appropriate ethical clearance/ethical approval for research involving human participants, animals, or other research requiring ethical review.
6. The manuscript has been checked for plagiarism and inappropriate similarity before submission.
7. All authors have approved the manuscript, author order, and submission.
8. Author information, including name, affiliation, email address, and ORCID (if available), is complete and accurate.
9. The manuscript complies with the journal's requirements regarding funding, conflict of interest, authorship, and AI use, where applicable.
10. For manuscripts submitted to a peer-reviewed section, authors have followed the double-blind review requirements, including removal of unnecessary author-identifying information from the manuscript.
11. Authors agree to comply with the Jurnal Medicare Publication Ethics, Peer Review, Copyright, Licensing, and Open Access policies.
