The contraceptive implant is a long-acting hormonal method based on progestin that is effective in preventing pregnancy but often causes side effects such as irregular bleeding or spotting. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the use of contraceptive implants and the occurrence of spotting at Puskesmas Sumberasih, Probolinggo Regency. The study employed a quantitative analytic design with an observational method and a cross-sectional approach, involving 52 implant users selected through total sampling. Data were collected using family planning cards, medical records, and structured interviews, then analyzed using descriptive statistics as well as Chi-Square. The results showed that most respondents were aged 20–39 years (94%) and had a senior high school education (38%). Spotting occurred in 46% of respondents, ranging from mild to severe, and statistical analysis indicated a significant relationship between the duration of implant use and the occurrence of spotting (p < 0.05). These findings highlight the importance of education and counseling to reduce side effects and improve user satisfaction.
